I am a person of the sea. I was born in Paternoster and started work at the age of 16.
I have worked at Paternoster Fisheries for over 40 years. My father was a fisherman and he brought 10 children up out of the sea.

What does the sea mean to you?
I grew up here, at the sea, I played at the beach and in the water, I would fish, fetch perlemone (abalone) and perdevoete (limpets). Every opportunity we have we go to the sea.
